With the Transforming Construction Challenge halfway through its funding period, it has invested in exceptional innovations that are fundamentally changing the way we are building – innovations that put the value to the end user at the heart of construction. But we know we also need to shift the narrative around UK construction and use these success stories to encourage other partners, up and down the supply chain, to adopt new manufacturing and data-driven processes – processes that will see us building more sustainably, putting long-term ‘whole-life’ value ahead of short-term margins and cost savings.
The Transforming Construction team are collecting and writing these case studies using the world’s most powerful story patterns, so that they become stronger stories that drive change. These stories are housed on a digital story database so they can be accessed and shared with ease, and to ensure they align to our new transformative narrative for UK construction.
This needs to be broader than just Challenge funding. We know that our members have stories which demonstrate the impact of innovation and a changing sector – so please utilise the transforming construction stories catalogue – including your stories via the add a story section and using the content available.
Have a look at the help and guidance section on the catalogue – particularly the podcast/video as it will run you through the process so you can essentially plot in your knowledge into the ‘building blocks’ of the story. If you’re worried your stories aren’t perfect when you submit, their team will take a look and check for accuracy, quality etc. and will come back to you with any further questions and for your final sign off.
