Buildoffsite members Laing O’Rourke and Mott MacDonald, amongst others, are seen here working on the biggest upgrade to the sewage system for more than 150 years; but built 90 metres under London, it is also the biggest engineering challenge for a generation.

As the Independent review stated ‘It’s not easy to make sewage photogenic, so the producers are to be congratulated on turning what is a naturally repulsive subject matter into mostly enjoyable viewing, thanks to some deft scripting and excellent photography that revealed the marvelous scale of the project’.
