Research project: Performance Specifications
This will develop guidance for the use of performance specifications for construction projects, primarily to help ensure that offsite and other MMC options are included in the potential solutions for delivering projects. The launch meeting of the Project’s Advisory Group was held on the 12th of October. The group includes broad representation including both the private sector and major public sector bodies. The Department for Transport is liaising with other Government departments to help ensure that the outputs from the project will be helpful in implementing the Construction Playbook. The outline contents and the authoring team are now being finalised with contributions being sought from a range of the sector’s thought leaders.
Three virtual workshops are being planned, for manufacturers, clients, and designers. The first for manufacturers will be held on Monday 30 October from 09:30 to 12:30. The others in November.
The guidance is planned to be published in the autumn of 2024.
