CIMC MBS Systems Holding Company Ltd receive BOPAS certification

Michael Crane, Head of Innovation at CIMC MBS Systems Holding Company Ltd presented with his BOPAS certificate by Mark Farmer, MMC Champion, at the BOPAS Forum held on the 14th September

CIMC MBS System

Since its inception in 2004, the volumetric system developed by CIMC Modular Building Systems has provided a variety of accommodation across the globe. In the UK market, the weather-resistant, fully welded steel modules have delivered over 4,000 hotel and student accommodation bedrooms in buildings ranging from 3 to 11 storeys. The system itself is capable of delivering mid to high rise projects at a large scale and, with the newly acquired BOPAS accreditation, can now provide residential projects into the UK. With particular focus on the build to rent sector and the huge demand within the UK, CIMC expects to be delivering its first of many projects imminently.

The BOPAS Process

“Achieving the BOPAS accreditation took considerable commitment, energy and drive from the CIMC MBS team. However, it would never have been realised without the continued support offered by both BLP and Lloyd’s Register. What could have been a complicated and lengthy process was made considerably more efficient and productive thanks to the team working under the BOPAS organisation. Both the Technical Assessor from BLP and the Auditor from Lloyd’s Register demonstrated a full understanding of the requirements and were available to offer support and advice throughout the entire process. More than this, they both demonstrated a willingness to listen to the challenges faced and to work collaboratively to resolve them. Obtaining full BOPAS accreditation is essential to the CIMC MBS business in the UK but is by no means the end of this journey. We look forward to a continued and progressive relationship with BOPAS through surveillance visits and the evolution of our organisations.” Michael Crane
