Call for contributions to parliamentary inquiry

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is supporting the All Party Parliamentary Group for Excellence in the Built Environment with an inquiry into how 1.5 million quality homes could be built in this parliamentary period.

The CIC is inviting evidence of how modern construction methods and technologies could accelerate the building process while maintaining high standards of quality. It is also asking for examples of sustainable building practices and affordable housing solutions at all income levels.

As part of BUILDOFFSITE’s new Manifesto commitment we are already liaising with many government departments on how to unlock investment, change behaviours, provide incentives for sustainable building solutions and drive demand for offsite at scale in various sectors. BUILDOFFSITE’s Built Environment working group will be closely involved with this inquiry and will submit an initial response on behalf of our members by 14 May.

If you would like to join a member focus group on MMC in residential contributing to this parliamentary inquiry and also make representations to this inquiry as an individual member do email Dirk Vennix. Deadline for submissions is 14 May.
