The Offsite Construction Show 2017

11-12 October 2017, ExCeL, One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock London E16 1XL

Now in it’s third year, the Offsite Construction Show is getting bigger and better. With the knowledge transfer seminar programme hosted by Buildoffsite, and sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the event showcases what’s at the cutting edge of the offsite sector, facilitating discussion between key players who are changing the UK construction market to increase quality and productivity.

The second Offsite Construction Show received overwhelming support from the offsite industry, the industry at last has its very own showcase attracting over 2,000 attendees who represented every part of the UK’s building, construction, design and engineering community, combining to make the UK’s first ever national Offsite exhibition a resounding success.

OSCS2017 will continue to build on this winning formula, we have a great show planned.

Thursday  –    09.30 to 16.00

Background

The National Composites at Emerson’s Green, Bristol is the UK’s leading Centre of Excellence and Innovation in composites technology. The work of the Centre involves the provision of solutions for the design, manufacture and application of thermoplastic & thermoset composites and multi-materials and includes a focus on research, technology, knowledge transfer and people development.

The use of composite materials is already well established in a number of industrial sectors including aerospace and automotive with proven technologies and practices now starting to be taken up within the construction sector. The application to offsite forms of construction is likely to be significant including in particular in applications where high strength, light weight and flexibility of form are project critical.

This visit will provide a great opportunity for Members to gain a valuable insight into what for many will represent a new generation of materials that will enable new applications, new solutions and new opportunities within the sector.

A briefing note on the work of the National Composites Centre is available here.
