Healthcare contract for offsite specialists
Light Steel Frame Solutions (LSFS) has been awarded a £1.2
million contract to design and construct two new build care homes in Essex.
Broomfield and Sandon care homes in Chelmsford will feature
four storeys of Strucmet Elite stand-alone structural light steel framing
in a deal that will be executed in conjunction with contractor J.R, the
Building Talk website reports.
LSFS secured the contract after demonstrating that the
offsite manufacturing of Stucmet Elite would ensure build times were significantly
reduced compared to traditional construction and meet sustainability targets.
Both Broomfield and Sandon homes will feature 158 beds
and be worth an estimated £720,000 and £5,000 respectively,
according to the website.
Fully-fitted bathroom units and ventilation, power, lighting
and heating services are all reported to be included in the package, which
will take 16 weeks to build once reaching the site.
In addition to the Broomfield and Sandon projects, LSFS's
offsite portfolio also features the Imperial Wharf residential development
in London.
