New York's famous Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has announced a new exhibition charting the rise of prefabricated housing.
Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling will be on display at the MoMA from July 20th and consist of five specially constructed prefabricated dwellings outside the museum, which visitors will be able to tour, according to the New York Times.
MoMA's chief curator of architecture and design Barry Bergdoll tod the newspaper: "It is as though we are expecting a new baby - actually, quintuplets."
He added that if the opening of the display was the 'birth' element of the exhibition, then the 'prenatal' part was a special website, allowing interested parties to follow the design, manufacture and construction stages of the project, the newspaper states.
The website will reportedly include weekly progress reports on the prefabricated developments, as well as architectural drawings, photographs and video clips.
Established in 1929, New York's MoMA is one of the city's leading tourist destinations, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
