Offsite construction techniques will be used in order to help extend a Sunderland gasworks following a deal worth £60 million.
Boc signed a contract with steel producer Corus, which will last for 15 years, according to the Sunderland Telegraph.
The large sum of money, thought to be one of biggest amounts ever paid for such a deal, will help to extend Boc's Sunderland plant, which will partly utilise offsite construction techniques.
"Clearly, once onsite construction commences, there will be a raft of activity on our site which will require specialist engineering capability," said a Boc spokesman.
"We would anticipate a proportion of this - and materials - will come from local companies," he added, possibly referring to the confirmation that a number of materials will be prefabricated.
One of the largest steel producers in the world, Corus develops offsite systems for use in construction.
