Pipe Modules for a Commercial Office Building

The building is a five-storey office development, built around two courtyards on a tight site defined by a busy road and a railway. The front of the building already existed and was dramatically refurbished, while the back is a new build project.

This building is probably unique in having such a high proportion of the contracting work under the direct control of a single company. Taken as a whole, it is almost certainly unique also in drawing together so many different aspects of design to pinpoint a very precise building solution. The structure, thermal mass, low energy ventilation, natural cooling and the architectural design all converge. It is the design that permits such a high level of offsite
manufacturing, creating an extremely efficient new office development.

A Modular Corridor Product for Four Airport Projects

The four projects at BAA’s London Heathrow and Gatwick airports total £225m in value, with the corridor elements covered in this study accounting for £27m.

The corridors, constructed from 4m long modules, segregate departing and arriving passengers in transit to and from the aircraft stands.

They measure 3.5m high by 5.0 to 7.2m wide, and range in length from 220 to 408m.
